MF-71 is a dry additive used to prepare unweighted flushes for he removal of water- based drilling muds. MF-71 can also be used to formulate permanent sealant gels based on sodium silicate.
Cementing Additives
Flushes
As a cement preflush, Naosi-G is used ahead of primary cement jobs. It can improve cement bonding and aid in preventing cement “fallback” in many areas where lost circulation is not a major concern.
Spacers
Spacer-One is a prepackaged mix to prepare cement spacers with densities from 9 lb./gal to as high as 18 lb./gal. It is normally mixed into fresh or salt water with readily available weighting agents being used to achieve the desired density. The resulting fluids are fairly low in viscosity, stable to at least 300º F. Spacer-One contains suspension aids and a defoamer in a graded calcium carbonate base.
HP-Spacer is a blend of high performance proprietary biodegradable polymers used to prepare water based cement spacers which displace drilling muds during cementing for improved cement “bond to casing” and “bond to formation” and improved cement integrity and bond logs. HP-Spacer has exceptional loss circulation control, fluid loss properties and is far superior to common water based cement spacers. Based on the Principles of Hierarchy Rheology, the HP spacer loading is adjusted so that the spacer´s YP is 1.5 – 2.5 times that the mud system being displaced for more consistent and complete displacement.
Surfactants
WETA-74 is used as mud flush for water-based muds and for flush to remove oil-based mud ahead of cement. WETA-74 is a versatile surfactant for use in well cleanup and acidizing. It may be used in acid, brine, or oil based fluids to promote water- wetting of solids and to break many emulsions, particularly those stabilized by oil-wet solids.
WETA-76, WETA-77 and WETA-78 are complex blends of highly specialized, powerful water wetting surfactants primarily used in water based spacers for the displacement of oil-based muds (OBM), invert-muds and synthetic-muds (SBM) from the wellbore annulus during cementing. The WETA 7X surfactants water wet the casing and formation faces to promote highly improved cement “bond to casing” and “bond to formation”. The selection of the WETA type and concentration is based on the specific type of mud that is being displaced and compatibility and current testing regimens. The surfactants provide improved spacer performance when displacing mud systems by helping to assure rheological compatibility between the spacer and either oil- based, invert-mud or synthetic- based muds.
WETA-77P is a powdered surfactant used in weighted spacers to water-wet casing and to aid in displacement of oil-based drilling fluids from the wellbore. By water-wetting the pipe surface WETA-77P promotes improved cement bonding. This unique powdered surfactant helps improves spacer performance when displacing oil-based mud systems by helping to assure rheological compatibility between the spacer and either oil-based (OBM) or synthetic-based (SBM) muds.
WETS-79E is a blend of nonionic ethoxylated surfactants recommended for use in a variety of oilfield applications where low surface tension and good surfactancy is required. Some applications include: Water-wet formations to improve cement bonding, increasing water injection rate in disposal or injection wells, increase injectivity and deliverability in gas storage wells by lowering surface tension and lower surface tension to help prevent emulsions in stimulation treatments or in load water.
